Obituary of Lauris Burdick

Lauris Burdick, 80, of Kenosha, WI and formerly of LasCruses, NM died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Sheridan Medical Complex in Kenosha. Lauris was born December 13, 1934 in Waukegan, IL. He graduated from Antioch High School and was a member of Antioch Methodist Church. He married Carol Giddins on March 23, 1974 at Antioch Methodist Church. Lauris owned Sinclair Gas Station in Antioch, IL and Golden Grove RV Park in Mission, TX. He was employed at the original Gander Mountain in Wilmot, Wi and had many other endeavors. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol; children, Lane (Sandy) Burdick, Pam Sanders, and Sherri (Dennis) Ohlinger; grandchildren, Jason, Delaney, Leah, Katie, Taylor, Stanley, Tammy and David; 7 great-grandchildren, Briana, Colin, Drew, Sarah, Brooke, John and Jewel; and brother, Vernon (Jan) Burdick. Lauris was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Leah Burdick; daughter, Laurie Young; and sister, Doris Hills. A visitation will be held, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mary Lou Palmer, officiating. Interment will be private for the family at a later date.
