Obituary of Connie J. Babut

Connie J. Babut, 66, of Winthrop Harbor, died July 10, 2015 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Connie was born February 13, 1949 in Chicago, she graduated from Madonna High School in Chicago in 1967. Connie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winthrop Harbor where she was a Sunday School teacher, prepared communion for offering, and small group classes, held “Experiencing God” in her home, and went to nursing homes to sing, do craft activities, and held group classes while she was there. Connie served in the United States Army. She was employed with Ryland Homes in Deer Park, Illinois. She loved her four-legged angels, Colie, her beloved dog, and Tux, her beloved cat. Connie is survived by her father, John Babut of McHenry; twin sister Carol (Jerry) Sarcia of Okatie, SC; uncle Stan (Joyce) Morek of Mt. Prospect, IL; aunt Mae Hromadka of Lake Havasu City, AZ; niece, Leslie (Troy) Smith of Jacksonville, FL; nephew Scott Uhwat of Island Lake, IL; cousins; and her friends who were like angels to her Opal Gilmore of Beach Park, Kathy Gill of Winthrop Harbor, Gail Waddle of Winthrop Harbor, Deacon David O’Rear of Beach Park, and Rosetta Klein of Zion, and Chad (Julie) Cummings of LaCrosse, WI. She was preceded in death by her mother Eve Babut in 2001. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 3001 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor, IL. Friends may greet the family from 10:30 until the time of the service at the church.
