Obituary of Matthew J. Krapf

Matthew J. Krapf, 45, of Stewartville, MN and formerly of Winthrop Harbor, IL went to be with his Lord on Monday January 25, 2016. Matthew was born on May 14, 1970 in Waukegan, IL. He grew up in the Beach Park area where he made lifelong friendships. He graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1988 and went on to earn his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Chicago. He was employed by Merck Pharmaceuticals for 13 years as executive manager in vaccines. He went on to work for Advanced Financial Consultants in Rochester. He had a passion for restoring cars with his father. Matt went on to marry and have 4 wonderful children. Matt had an infectious smile, a wonderful laugh and charisma that could win anyone over. He was the most amazing son, brother, father, husband, and uncle and will be deeply missed. Once you met Matthew, you respected and loved him forever. The most important thing in his life was his children. They were his pride and joy. He is survived by his parents, Bonnie and Terry Krapf of Somers, WI; a sister, Erin (Steven) Fragassi; nieces, Gabrielle and Millicent; his wife, Lisa; and his children, Jack, Joey, Maya and Malena. He was an uncle to several nieces and nephews that will miss his playful nature. He is also survived by many close friends, especially Deb and Mike. Matthew was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Edward & Ruth Goeske and Raymond and Nedra Krapf. A memorial service will held at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr. Zion, IL on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1 1:00 a.m. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
