Obituary of Jean H. Fuson

Jean H. Fuson, 89, of Zion, IL went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family, on July 23, 2016 at St. Joseph's Home and Rehab Center in Kenosha, WI. Jean was born July 25, 1926 to Roy and Alice Hurd in Waukegan, IL. She married Clifford L. Fuson Jr. in 1955. They were blessed with three children Karen (Gary) Thomas of Pleasant Prairie,WI, Gail Pierog of Kenosha,WI, and son Lee (Anne) Fuson of Zion, grandchildren Greg (Diedra) Thomas, Brienne (Jason) Palmer, Jordan Thomas, Jillian and Jackson Pierog, Meghan, Ryan, and Kelly Fuson, and additionally blessed with five great-grandchildren, Jaidan and Kanen Palmer, Hannah and Zoe Thomas, and Brennan Fuson, all of whom were a source of great joy. She attended Grace Missionary Church and Christ Community Church where she made many friends. She was involved with the Zion Conservatory of Music where she was a loyal friend and supporter. Jean loved music and enjoyed attending the local concerts, musical recitals, and helping decorate for the Zion Orchestra dinners. Jean has been a member of the Zion Women's Club since 1989. She was also a member of the Garden Club. She was an avid quilter with the ladies of Grace Missionary Church’s Quilting group. Many were blessed by Jean’s wonderful home cooking and baking. Cooking and baking for family and friends was her favorite activity. For Jean, food was love. She helped many people with the gift of a home cooked meal or baked items at times of illness, crisis, or celebratory events. Her food was a wonderful addition to many special events at Christ Community Church, Grace Missionary Church, and the senior group at the Zion Park District. She won many cooking and baking contests with her delicious recipes. She delivered food for Meals on Wheels for many years bringing happy greetings to shut-ins. Always giving of herself to friends and family, Jean was a warm and caring person, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford L. Fuson Jr.; parents, Roy C. and Alice Hurd; sister, Lydiana James; and brother, Robert L. Hurd. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion,, IL.
