Obituary of Jerry Marshall Kennedy

Jerry Marshall Kennedy, 72, of Miami Township, OH, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. He was born March 2, 1944 in Smithville, MS, son of the late Marshall and Laura Reedy Kennedy. He was married to Leona Sue Alsip Kennedy, who survives, for 34 years. Jerry graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1962 and spent most of his life in Winthrop Harbor, IL. He graduated with his Business Degree from Southern Illinois University. He was a partner and owner of Mid-America Tire Company in Ohio. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mike Kennedy, Brad (Nancy) Brannon, Bobbi Kennedy and Heather (Glen) Nielsen; grandchildren, Casey Brannon, Olivia Nielsen, Erin Casellas, Beck Nielsen, RJ Casellas; sister Betty (Tom) McCann; nephews Scott and Eric McCann; and an Aunt Mary Bennett. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2016 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St. (SR 125), Amelia. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
