Obituary of Corazon Bayani Habacon

Corazon Bayani Habacon, 69, of Chicago, IL died Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Winthrop Harbor surrounded by family. Corazon was born June 8, 1947 in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. She came to the United States in 1972. She received a Bachelors of Science in Commerce Major in Accounting at University of the East, Philippines; a Masters in Business Administration - Accounting at De Paul University, Chicago, IL. Corazon was a member of St. Clements Church in Chicago, IL and was greatly devoted to the Virgin of Penafrancia of Bicol, Philippines. She served with the United States Air Force for 7 years and retired from AON Insurance in 2007. Survivors include her sisters, Cristeta Palabrica, Raida Habacon, Editha H. (Dr. Pedro G.) Palu-ay, Dr. Lydia Habacon, and Dr. Olivia (Dr. Anthony Iurcotta) Habacon; her brother, Juan (Leonila A. Habacon) Habacon; nieces, Dr. Lyssa (Larry Kelley) Paluay, Belita Paluay, Toni Pilar Iurcotta, and Pilar Joanna Habacon; nephew, Anthony Iurcotta Jr.; grand-niece, Genevieve Chesler; grand-nephews, Samuel Chesler, Alexander Kelley. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Dr. Lorenzo and Pilar Bayani Habacon. She doted on her nieces, nephew, godchildren. She loved to read, was passionate about crossword puzzles. She loved art and classical music. She would take her nieces to the museum, art shows and concerts to expose them to the things that she loves. She loved to travel to religious pilgrimages in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Mass of Christian will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Rd, Zion, IL. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
