Obituary of Norma Nyquist

Norma Irene Nyquist of Park City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 24th, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL, surrounded by her family. Norma was 83 years of age and was born on July 28th, 1933 in Waukegan, IL. She was the daughter of Frans and Wilhelmina (Westermark) Harju and sister of William (Irene) Harju, Harry (Alice) Harju, Rudolph Harju, Ina (Leo) Patari, Evelyn (Leo) Helin, and Betty (Fred) Birtic. She married Clyde Edwin Nyquist on December 1st, 1961, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Soudan, MN. They were married for 55 years. Norma was very involved throughout her life with her family. She had three sons: Timothy, Daniel, and Scott. Each married, and together, they gave her 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the proudest grandma there ever was and would be seen at any time boasting about the most recent accomplishment of one of her sons or grandchildren. She spent many years raising the grandchildren while they were young and their parents worked. She had a very special relationship with each of her children, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a way of making each person feel special, important, and loved. Norma is survived by her husband, Clyde; sons, Timothy (Renee), Daniel (Chante), and Scott (Karlene); grandchildren, Kathleen, Kimberly (Justin), Sarah, Emily, Daniel, Jr., Tesa, Ruben, Scott, Jr., Nathan, Cassandra, and Noah; great grandchildren, Annalisa, Eli, and Isaac. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in charge of Congdon Funeral Home in Zion, IL. Norma will be greatly missed and remembered by her family and loved ones.
