Obituary of Sherryn Ewell

Sherryn Ewell, age 79, of Kenosha, Wisconsin peacefully went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ surrounded by her family on the evening of Wednesday, February 22 at United Kenosha Medical Center. She was very passionate about helping people in any way she could, especially in prayer. She became a member of Christ the King Church after moving to Beech Pointe in Kenosha almost seven years ago. She enjoyed leading Bible studies with fellow residents there. While living in Belvidere, Illinois she was an active member at Rock Church in Rockford, Illinois where she taught Sunday School for thirteen years and served as a board member of Wellspring Senior Group. She also belonged to the Boone County Republican Club and volunteered at the Keenage Center. Sherryn kept busy as an active member of Women’s Aglow International, the Belvidere Federated Women’s Club and with the Home Christian Educators Club as well. She was a retired Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Arts in Ministerial Studies. She is survived by her son Stephen Ewell (Starlene), daughter Leslie Barnard (David); seven adored grandchildren, Joshua Ewell (Melissa), Jeremiah Barnard (Marie), Jacob Barnard (Amanda), Abigail Barnard, Garrett Handler, Anna Barnard, and Isaiah Ewell; two treasured great-grandchildren, Alessandro & Athena Ewell; one brother Bruce Russell (Bernice), and one sister Sandra Morrison. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 5934 8th Ave., Kenosha, WI. During this time food will be served in the Fellowship Hall. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place Wednesday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Belvidere Cemetery, 1121 N. Main St., Belvidere, IL.
