Obituary of Brad Klammer

Brad had taken his “flight” to be with the Lord on March 24th 2017. He was born at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Kenosha Wisconsin on October 3rd 1951 to the late Herbert J. Klammer and Darlene “Mickey” Klammer and also preceded in death by his step-brother Terry Montpas. His survivors are Kimberly K. Bishop (Jim), Catherine Klammer “Aunt Kathy”, step-brother Ric Montpas (Nancy) of South Milwaukee, Lisa Montpas of Beach Park, other survivors include a cousin Todd Klammer and several other great nieces and great nephews. Brad was a HUGE Green Bay Packer fan!!! He graduated in the class of 1969 at Zion Benton High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served 4 years for the USA as a airplane mechanic during the Viet Nam War, he saw great places in the world his favorite being Spain and Okinawa and was stationed in California when in the U.S. When he returned he went to work at Johnson Motors in Waukegan and then worked as a ride mechanic at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee Illinois for many years. Then he was a mechanic for the State at Illinois Beach State Park for his last career of 25 years then retired in 2012. He also enjoyed cooking and making cheesecakes for many of his friends. He also enjoyed going to his favorite “watering holes” in the area- Clarks Lounge where he was nicknamed “The Mayor” the Hickory House in Beach Park and the VFW in Winthrop Harbor where he enjoyed many hours with MANY friends! He resided in the home that his father built and where he grew up in Beach Park and he enjoyed his time there and had several “treehouse” parties. He ended up having several health issues and that took quite a toll on him until the Lord called him home. He had many many friends and was loved by many and will truly be missed by all that knew him. The services will be private, but we will have a “Celebration of Life” to remember him at his home on June 17th at 10:00 am for a gathering and depart at 11:00 am to Pineview Cemetery for the burial of his ashes and a service then returning to his home for the “Celebration of his life” and we encourage all of you to please join us!!!!
