Obituary of Barbara L. Stice

Barbara L. Stice, 74, of Beach Park, IL died August 12, 2017 at Lake Forest Hospital from complications of lymph node cancer.

She was born February 21, 1943 in Waukegan, IL and lived most of her life here. She married Duane Stice on January 28, 1966 at Great Lakes, IL. Together they lived in Hawaii and California during the time he was in the military. She attended Andrews University in Barrien Springs, MI. Barbara worked as a medical technologist at Lake Forest Hospital for 31 years. She loved golfing with friends at Bonnie Brook Women's Golf Association and going on golf vacations, playing cards, reading, going to the casino and especially the companionship of her many rescue Labrador retrievers. 

Survivors include her siblings, Dennis (Judy) Murtha, Diane (John) Zickus, and Linda Sack; much loved nieces and nephews, Kelly, Tracy, Eric, Kathy, Mary Kay, Monica, Karen, Michele, and Dana; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Stice; parents, Helen and Dennis Sr.; brother, Michael Murtha; and brother-in-law, Bill Sack.

A memorial gathering will take place Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Bonnie Brook Golf Course, 2800 N Lewis Ave, Waukegan, IL. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), or American Labrador Rescue, (www.americanlabrescue.com) have been suggested.
