Obituary of Ruhamy R. Helmick

Ruhamy R. Helmick, 92, of Beach Park, IL passed away peacefully November 17, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Ruhamy was born October 11, 1925 in Waukegan, IL to Robert and Esther Sheldon.  She married Gale D. Helmick on June 3, 1950 in Waukegan, IL.  Ruhamy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She was a member of North Point Church in Winthrop Harbor.  She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, sewing, baking and canning.

She is survived by her children, Sharon (Macario) Cortes, Donna (Wade) Holcomb, Sandra (Freddie) Estrada, Ronald (Christine) Helmick and Tina (Doug) Friday; grandchildren, Laurie Loeb, Darrin Neuschaefer, Timothy Neuschaefer, Christian Nelson, Marcario Cortes III, Cindy Hathaway, Jeff Fallos, Jennifer Kraus, Teresa Estrada, Monika Estrada, Adam Helmick, Randall McKinney, Brooke McKinney and Emily Friday; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gale; parents, Robert and Esther and sister, Iona Reinbach.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be at Pine View Memorial Park, Beach Park, IL.  Memorials in Ruhamy’s name made to North Point Church would be appreciated.
