Debora Klebe

Obituary of Debora Klebe

Debora “Debbie” Lynn Klebe, born January 27th, 1958, in Waukegan Illinois, the daughter of John Hatch and Florence (Connelly) Hatch.  She was called to rest on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, in Lake Villa, IL. Debbie grew up in Zion, IL and graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1976 and later with her BA from Concordia University. She married Timothy Klebe in 1992 in Jamaica and they had 25 wonderful years of marriage.

Debbie worked for 27 years at Abbott Laboratories where she excelled in various management positions, retiring from there in 2009. As a creative outlet, she took classes at the Art Institute of Chicago in design and put her knowledge to good use when building and decorating their summer home in Saxeville, Wisconsin. She was extremely gifted in the arts, designing jewelry, working with stained glass, and sewing.

Additionally, she loved to spend time outdoors on the water or gardening. You could find her out boating, fishing, kayaking or water skiing on Deep Lake in Illinois and Long Lake in Wisconsin. Deb and Tim once won a bass tournament with Deb getting the largest catch of the day, a 6.49 lb. largemouth bass. She was very athletic and ran track in high school & qualified for the state championship.  She also enjoyed playing softball and racquetball (in a men’s league).

Debbie was on the Long Lake Board serving on committees and helping with fundraisers that benefited the lake environment. She loved to entertain and host parties with friends and family making sure that everyone was happy and full from her delicious cooking.

She had an affinity for miniature Italian Greyhounds and loved to spend time and snuggle with her two dogs, Teddy and Rocky.

She was extraordinarily generous and a loving friend to many.  She would plan Christmas gifts for family and friends months in advance making sure she didn’t miss anyone.

Debbie is survived by her husband Tim; father John Hatch; brother John (Brenda) Hatch; mother-in-law Arlie Klebe; brother-in-law Gary Klebe; sisters-in-law Lorie(Silvio) Martinez & Lisa Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Florence Hatch; brother Bill Hatch; sister Darlene Williams; and father-in-law Robert Klebe.

We wish to warmly thank you for your comforting words and genuine acts of kindness in our time of sadness. A special thanks to the many friends and family who provided love and support during our difficult time.
