Obituary of Celestine Yvonne Fragassi

Celestine “Tina” Yvonne Fragassi (Springer), 67 of Waukegan,IL passed away at home on January 23rd, 2018. She was born November 22,1950 in Waukegan to Herbert and Christine Springer. Tina was a life-long resident of Waukegan. She worked 27 years for the City of Waukegan in Animal Control and was Chief Animal Warden for 20 of those years. Tina was passionate about her profession. Her astute knowledge and professionalism as Chief Animal Warden garnered a great deal of respect from those whom she served in her community. She truly enjoyed helping people and was well known for her annual Animal Shelter Picnics. Tina retired in 2007. Tina is survived by her husband, Mark; two children, son Edward (Lori) Evans, daughter Renee Pressley; five grandchildren, Taili, Kalan, Joshua, Spencer and Edrienne; five siblings, Sandra, Gene, Rita, Tracey and Christopher; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Springer and Christine Wakefield; grandparents, Pinky and Lillie May Graves; and son, Spencer Patrick Evans.

A visitation will be held at the Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Tuesday at Prayer Garden Church of God in Christ, 2813 20th St North Chicago, IL 60064 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
