Obituary of Henry Lear

On December 17, 1976 the Lord blessed Linda Lear and Henry “Hank” Armstrong with the birth of their second son, Henry Deshon Lear in Waukegan, IL. Henry affectionately known to family and friends as “Deshon”.  Linda later met and married Alex “Buddy” Brown, who stepped in and raised Deshon and his older brothers as his own.


Deshon accepted Christ on March 1, 1992 at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Zion IL under the leadership of Rev. B.J Gaston. Deshon attended and graduated from Zion Benton Township High School in Zion, IL in 1996. While in attendance at Zion Benton Deshon excelled in wrestling, basketball, football and track. He was known to many for his flipping, pop locking and rapping abilities. Deshon attended and graduated from UNEXT Barber school in Waukegan, IL in 2013 and later went on to work at Top Choice Salon under the management of Tony Johnson.


In 2003 Deshon was introduced to the love of his life Tanesha Cecil. Deshon and Tanesha were united in marriage on June 20, 2009 by Rev. Gerald Wilcoxson at Mount Sinai Baptist Church. Deshon was called home February 22, 2018 in Kenosha, WI. Deshon leaves to mourn his wife Tanesha, daughters Lachelle, Leamani, Jaslyn and grandson Jayden. Deshon also leaves his mother and dad Linda and Alex Brown, 3 brothers Kebron, Damian (Trina) and Demarcus and 1 sister Saqonia all of Zion, IL. Deshon also leaves to cherish his memories a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Derrick Nickerson, Tony Johnson and Frank Deleon.


Deshon is preceded in death by his father Henry “Hank” Armstrong, paternal grandparents Henry and Willie B. Armstrong, maternal grandparents James and Rosie Lear and he was lead to the heavenly gates by his cousin Denise “Saydoe” Lear.
