Obituary of Lance Lelon Leech

Lance Lelon Leech, 52, of Beach Park, IL, passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2018.

Lance was born October 10, 1965 in Waukegan, IL to Lelon and Sandra Leech.  He graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School with the class of 1983, went on to graduate from the University of Illinois and attended dental school at University of Illinois Chicago.  He was a former employee of Abbott Laboratories and most recently worked at Sunset Lanes in Waukegan.  Lance was a member of the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America and the Elks Lodge #702.  He was active in many local sports leagues playing softball, golf, basketball and bowling.  He was an avid Chicago sports fan and always followed the Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears, Bulls and the University of Illinois Illini.  Lance adored his beloved Jack Russell Terriers and “mutts”.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra Leech; sisters, Larissa (Jeff) Rich, Leticia (Mike) Best, Leandra (Bill) Marshall; nieces and nephews, Alexander, Adam and Brett Rich, Brandon (Valerie) Best, Kallyna (Tim) Hansen, Austen and Lauren Marshall; great-nephews, Gracin and Beckett Hansen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a special uncle, Dale Leech.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lelon Leech, and his grandparents.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.  A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will be private for the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Orphans of the Storm, P.O. Box 31, Riverwoods, IL 60015 have been suggested.
