Wolden, Betty 92, a kind, caring, gentle lady passed away at home surrounded by her family on October 5, 2013.
Betty and her twin sister Helen were 2 of 7 children born to Chris and Annie Larsen in Lake Forest, Illinois. She married the love of her life, Jim, and moved to Waukegan 67 years ago where they raised 4 children. Jim carried on his father's concrete/construction business, and Betty was the bookkeeper for the business. Betty was a devoted wife and mother who cared deeply for her family. She was very generous in meeting the needs of others; whether it was finding the perfect card, the perfect gift, or making one of her famous pies for a special occasion.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Wolden; her loving children, Tom Wolden, Diane Wolden (Dave LeBlond), Linda Thompson (Keith), and Sharon Mercer (Bill); her grandchildren, Lisa Rausch, Craig Wolden (Samantha), Danielle Washington, and Justin Vigardt (Cassandra); 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Larsen; a sister, Marion Smith; and not to be forgotten, our faithful family caregiver, Stefania.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
A private service for the family was held at the North Shore Garden of Memories.
