Betty Mae Young, 92, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, formerly of Zion, IL, died September 6, 2017.
Betty was born August 28, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN. She married Chester Young in Waukegan, IL on Thanksgiving Day. Betty was employed by Abbott Labs for over 30 years. She loved to travel, do needlework, and spend time with her family.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Pauline Ring and Belinda (Steve) Sarver; grandchildren, Christina (Damien) January, Ryan Young, Kyle Young, Aaron (Megan Walsh) Young, and Ashley (Cole Garcia) Sarver; great-grandchildren, Aryana January, Antonio January, Amaré January, and Zepplin Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; daughter, Diana Young; son, John Young; son-in-law, Tom Ring; infant granddaughter, Amber Dye; her parents, and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family.
