Darlene P. "Dolly" Hansen Of "Never Rest Farms" dies. Darlene P. "Dolly" (Butts) Hansen was born September 4, 1922, in Ethan, South Dakota. She was 88 years old when she died on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at her daughter's home in Kenosha, WI, surrounded by her family. She formerly lived in Zion and Waukegan, IL. Darlene and her husband, Thomas "Swede" had the "Never Rest Farm" on Lewis Avenue in Waukegan, IL. Darlene worked for the Waukegan School District for 12 years and was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Zion, Zion Park District and the Winthrop Harbor AARP.
Survivors include son, Kenneth D. Hansen of Winder, GA and daughter, Nancy D. (Milford) Lother of Kenosha, WI. Darlene was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Earle M. Butts and Addie McNary Butts; husband, Thomas Hansen; brother, Duane Butts; sisters, Ella Sanderson, Geraldine Haase, Phyllis Foster, Earlene Fenske, and Viola Butts; sons, Thomas O. "Skip" Hansen and Earl E. Hansen; and grandson, Keith Hansen.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Antioch, IL. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice Alliance of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
