Irwin "Bud" DeGraff, 76, of Zion, IL, passed away surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Kenosha United Medical Center, Kenosha, WI.
Bud was born October 6, 1934, in Ivanhoe, IL, and married Connie Mabry on June 4, 1960, in Zion, IL. Bud formerly owned Bud's Barber Shop in Winthrop Harbor IL for 18 years and ultimately retired from Abbott Laboratories. He was a United States Army Veteran. Various hobbies included construction of three airplanes (he was a private pilot) and an interest in antique tractors and cars.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Connie; three children, Todd DeGraff of Lake Villa, IL, Lyle (Michelle) DeGraff of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Julie (Joe) Lippeth of Winthrop Harbor, IL; four grandchildren, Vail and Brac DeGraff, and Bailey and Corey Lippeth; sisters, June Jenkins of Zion and Sophie (Don) Behnke of Waukegan, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Jennie DeGraff and biological mother, Ruth.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL.
