Joseph Reid

Joseph R. Reid, 64, of Waukegan, died on Friday, June 8, 2007, at home. Joseph was born in Waukegan and was a 1960 graduate of Waukegan High School. He married Margaret Walker on June 29, 1963. Joseph had been employed by Goodwill at the Great Lakes Naval Base, North Chicago Smelters and Refiners, and Goodyear Tire and Rubber of North Chicago. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Joseph was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Margaret Reid; daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Gamble of Round Lake Beach, IL; son Richard J. (Beth) Reid of Beach Park, IL; grandchildren, Scott, Samantha, and Shane Reid, and Morgan and Taylor Gamble, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Hugh and John Reid; sisters, Margaret Needham, Gertrude Landers, and Alice Hatfield and his parents, Hugh and Nellie Reid. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at 7:00 p.m., at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, Il., with Rev. David Eikenberry of the First Presbyterian Church of Waukegan, officiating. Interment will be private for the family. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.
