Louis D. Henkel, 84, of Waukegan, IL died June 25, 2017 at his home.
He was born March 14, 1933 in Kenosha, WI and was a life long member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL. He retired after 30 years from OMC in Waukegan. He then drove school bus for the city of deerfield for 10 years and was also a charter boat captain out of Waukegan for over 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, thoroughly enjoyed the music of Pink Floyd, and always looked forward to his daily coffee with his friends at McDonalds.
Survivors include his children, Jeffery (Cindy) Henkel of Big Bend, WI, Bruce Henkel of Waukegan, and Diana (Randy Gudmundson) of Kenosha, WI; siblings, Lawrence, Ronald, Marcy Davis, Danny, and Billy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; sons, Kenneth and Richard; parents, John and Ruth Henkel; and siblings, Gert, Robert, Fritz, Agnes, and Annette.
A memorial service will take place Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2720 N. McAree Rd., Waukegan, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:30 until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be private for the family.
