Melvin (Kelly) Charles McCormick, 76, of Kenosha,Wisconsin went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Kelly graduated from Warren High School in Gurnee, IL. after growing up in Wildwood, IL. Kelly married Joyce Dionne Brown on June 1, 1996 at the First Baptist Church in Winthrop Harbor, IL. He was a member of Wesley Free Methodist church. Kelly was a dedicated employee to Lake County Press for 36 years and then worked at Costco for 6 years. Kelly was known for being a loving, caring, unselfish husband, father, and papa to each of his family members. He loved Nascar, car shows, old movies, and spending time with his family. Kelly also adored his furbabies; Maple, Gus, Flik, Graycie, Milo, and Jax.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Mallory (Seth), Katie (Austin), Michael (Robin), Chris, Ami (Dave) and Gary; grandchildren, Faith, Kyle, McKenzie, Hannah, Madison, and Laila; mother-in-law, Carolyn Brown; sisters, Pam and Betty. Kelly is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of in-laws that truly love him and many close friends who were family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark; mother, Dorothy; father, Henry; sisters, Kathy and Barbara; nephews, Derek and Mark; and Father-in-law, Howard Brown.
The family would like to thank Aurora Medical Center Kenosha and Cancer Treatment Center for all of their love and compassion and outstanding healthcare. They truly went above and beyond. They would also like to especially thank Dr. Alby Antoo and Dr. Syed Haider.
Visitation will take place Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Wesley Free Methodist Church in Waukegan, IL. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
