Michael Allen Bench, 63, of Kenosha, passed into Eternal life, Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at Hospice House. He lived and died surrounded by love.
Born Nov. 24, 1948, he was the son of the late Marion and Robert Bench. Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon.
Michael graduated High School in Evanston, Ill., He then served in the United States Army. He worked as an auxiliary Battalion Chief at the Great Lakes Fire Department at Great Lakes Naval Base for 31 years and retired in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn; children, Sean (Tariina), Molly, and Ryan Bench and Harland (Trisha) and Chad Moon; grandchildren, Skyler, Austin, and Kayla Moon, and godchild, Kenneth Kaiser. Also, Shirley, Jeff (Donna), Danny (Stephanie), Mike (Mary), Jason, Erica, and Michael Latondress. Extended family; Karen, Daymen (Heidi) and Jason (Joy) Kaiser and his beloved dog, Nicky.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 12 noon, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 2224 45th Street, Kenosha, WI officiated by Fr. William Hayward, MIC. Interment will follow at Greenridge Cemetery, 6604 7th Avenue, Kenosha, WI. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hope Safehouse in Racine, WI.
