Michael Decker

1961 — June 10, 2008

Michael Allen Decker, 47, of Beach Park, Illinois, departed this world, at home, on June 10, 2008, with family and friends at his side after a courageous battle with cancer. "Mike" was born March 19, 1961 in Waukegan, Illinois and was formerly employed by Domino Amjet of Gurnee and Cherry Electric of Waukegan. Michael will be greatly missed by his parents, Rosalie (Ken) Gotsch of Arkdale, Wisconsin and Allen Decker of Bristol, Wisconsin; loving daughters, Sarah (Andres) Decker and Erin Decker and adorable grandsons, A.J. and Angel Ramirez all of Zion; his brother, Frank Decker of Mundelein; his sister Patricia (John) Fenner of Antioch; special care givers and much loved grandmother, Rose Leach; and favorite aunt and "second Mom", Donna Pannone of Beach Park. He is also survived by half siblings, Belinda, Tracey, and Dawn; his aunt, Mary Pannone of Waukegan; uncles James Leach of Willis, Texas, Paul (Ann) Leach of Walton, Indiana, Patrick (Pam) Leach of Beach Park and John (Linda) Leach of Zion; nephew, Alex; nieces Melanie, Tiffany and Haley; along with a host of cousins, the Medina family, and his lifelong best friend, Bill Linsky of Waukegan. He was preceded in death by his half brother, Danny. Michael was an avid fisherman who loved the great north woods of Wisconsin. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed bowling, golf, softball, the White Sox, the Steelers, and spending quality time with family and friends. A celebration of Michaels life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the Congdon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family have been suggested. All who loved "Mike" are encouraged to participate with the M.A.D. Walkers at the American Cancer Societies Relay For Life Rally to be held on June 21, 2008 at Bevier Park in Waukegan. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Mikes Doctors, Nurses, and Staff, also STAR Hospice for the dignified treatment he received.
