Mickey spent the majority of his working life as a laboratory technician for Abbott Laboratories. He was a determined survivor of a motorcycle crash and, later in life, of prostate cancer. A lifelong music fan, he played the guitar for many years. He was a steadfast supporter of his kids and grandkids, and loyal to his friends.
Mickey is survived by his three children, Jeffrey (Michele) Hallgren, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Jacka, Jennifer Hallgren; grandchildren, Claudia Davis, Karissa Cepon and Ryan Hallgren; brother Lawrence Hallgren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Hallgren, sister Paula Kravovsky, and parents Albert and Ruth Hallgren.
Mickey will be laid to rest during a small outdoor gathering of family and close friends on Friday, November 27th, 2020 at 10:00 am at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL. The family anticipates hosting a celebration of life in Mickey’s honor in the future.
