Miriam "Mim" Musselman, 86, of Zion, IL died on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at her daughter's home in Beach Park, surrounded by her family.
She was born December 2, 1926 in Zion. She married Glenn Musselman of Chicago on September 16, 1950 in Zion. Miriam was employed by Fansteel of North Chicago, IL and at Zion Industries as an executive secretary and later worked as office manager at Home Agency in Zion for over 25 years. She was a member of Christ Community Church of Zion. She also did volunteer work at Christ Community Church, Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home, Zion American Legion, and she was a regular participant at Curves in Zion. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her girlfriends.
Survivors include daughters Rhonda (Richard) Stasaitis of Beach Park, IL, Sandra (Timothy) Beem of Beach Park, IL, and Cynthia (Charles) Sloka of Buffalo Grove, IL; grandchildren Christine (Chris) Varsek, Joel Stasaitis, Kara (Matt) Melchiorre, Eric (Christi) Beem, Janel (Soren) Rehn, Michael Beem, Alyssa Sloka, and Kathryn Sloka; four great-grandchildren; one sister Alice (Skip) Kinsman of Elkhart, IN; sisters-in-law Betty Jo Musselman of Carol Stream, IL and Isabelle Hunt of Aurora, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn in 2011; two brothers Urban (and the late Gena) Hunt and Vernon Hunt; and her parents Ellis and Alice Hunt.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 7, 2013, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8th, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Community Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to Engage Africa (engageafrica.com), where her nephew Jeff Hunt serves as a Missionary, has been suggested.
