Robert W. "Bob" McNeil, 70, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, formerly of Zion, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at home surrounded by his family.
Bob was born July 1, 1938 in Kenosha and has lived in this area all of his life. He served with the United States Army from 1955 until 1958. Bob retired from National Gypsum in 1999. He enjoyed Las Vegas, going to casinos, friends and family, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Cheryl; children, Tracy (David) Miracle of Kenosha, Shawn McNeil of Pleasant Prairie and Shannon (Jeremy) Picard of Pleasant Prairie; five grandchildren, Nick, Alec and Hayley Miracle, Darion McNeil, and Kamryn Picard; and one sister, Karen (Keith) Lindahl of Kenosha.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James and David McNeil; one sister, Patricia Deckrosh; and his parents, Kenneth and Elizabeth McNeil.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 2009, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Glover officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to either the American Cancer Society, or Hospice Alliance of Kenosha, have been suggested.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their loving words and support during this most difficult time. Bob touched many lives and although he left this life too soon, he will live in our hearts forever. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. We love you and will miss you.
