Ruth Ann "Grandma Ruthie" Kenner, 63, of Zion, IL, and formerly of Aurora, IL, went into the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 19, 2009. Ruth was born on March 8, 1945, in Aurora, IL. She was a graduate of Aurora College and received her Special Education Certificate from National Louis University. Ruth was formerly taught for the Waukegan, Zion, Round Lake, and Aurora Public Schools. She was a member of Northpoint Community Church in Winthrop Harbor, IL. Survivors include children, Erika (Brian) Check of IL and Jill (Christian) Constante on IL; grandchildren, Emily and Anna Check, and Johnny, Mateo, and Baby Constante; brother, Larry (Gretchen) Boyd of North Carolina; niece, Michelle Boyd, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clarence and Margaret Boyd; aunt, Viola Hansen; and cousin, Sandra Hansen. A celebration of Life Dinner and Service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Northpoint Community Church, 900 North Lewis Ave., Winthrop Harbor, IL. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:30 p.m. until time of service at church. An interment service will be held on Friday, January 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, 675 Route 30, Aurora, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to the Northpoint Community Church.
