Zana Lucille Lura, 81, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Aurora Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Zana was born June 13, 1927, in Wausau, Wisconsin. She was a founding member of Northpoint Christian Church in Winthrop Harbor.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Joseph Richard Lura; children, Mark Joseph (Debra) Lura of River Forest, Illinois, Valarie Jo Lura of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and Carolyn Jean (Bruce) Bakken of Kenosha, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Alison Rene Davidson, Ashley Marie Sheppard, Brittany Ann-Louise Bakken, Olivia Sharon Lura, and Brandon and Nicole Rinaldo; two great-grandsons, Logan and Landon Davidson; her sisters, Jean (the late Dale) Mooring of California and her twin, Zada (the late Fred) Sorensen of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; and she was blessed to have dozens of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend, "Bobby."
She was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Ross; one sister, Virginia Ross; her father and mother, Cecil and Jean Ross; and her many favorite pets, "Tippie," "Penny," "Crackerjacks," "Bandit" and "Nina."
Visitation will be Saturday, April 11, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Northpoint Christian Church, 900 N. Lewis Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, Illinois 60096. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Dennis Corley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Greater Illinois Chapter Alzheimer's Association, 8430 West Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, Illinois 60631 have been suggested.
