Albert R. Klemin, 83, of Zion, Illinois, died on March 13, 2010 at his home.
He was born September 22, 1926 in Zion to the late Charles and Martha Klemin. Albert married the late Jovina A. Klemin on May 17, 1974 in Waukegan. He co-owned with his wife Klemin Commercial Cleaners in Zion. Albert was a Veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict, and the Vietnam war, having first served with the United States Navy and later retiring from the United States Army in 1965 after serving over 20 years total. He was a member of Zion-Benton Moose, the American Legion, and enjoyed the Chicago Bears. Albert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include sons, Fred Nielsen of Gurnee, Illinois and Loren Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Cheryl (Smith) Peters of Zion; granddaughters, April Peters of Waukegan and P.J. Nielsen of Gurnee; grandsons, Phillip Peters of Zion and Brenden Clay of Atlanta, Georgia; and great-grandchildren, Aaron and Samantha.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Jovina, on July 13, 2009; one son, Larry Smith; and his parents.
A cemetery committal service for friends and relatives will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., at the Mt. Olivet Memorial Park Chapel, 1436 Kenosha Road, Zion. There will be no visitation.
