Alice Marie Jump

Alice Marie Jump, 91, of Zion, IL, formerly of Winthrop Harbor , IL, died on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Rolling Hills Manor, Zion, IL. Alice was born February 8, 1924, in Spooner, WI, and moved to this area in 1947. She was a graduate of the St. Therese School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan and the V.A. Hospital in North Chicago. Alice was a member of Our Lady of Humility in Beach Park and the Zion Women of the Moose. She loved to downhill ski along with water skiing. Survivors include sons, Edward (Sue) Jump of Lakenheath, England, Lawrence Jump of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and John S. (Janet) Jump of Friendship, WI; daughter, Susan (Gerald) Cook of Gurnee, IL; grandchildren, Robert Jump, Teresa Hayhurst, Jenny Cook, Joseph Jump, Gerry Jump, Alison Beale, Rhiannon Jump, Laura Van Dien, Matthew Jump, and Jacob Jump; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; sister, Virginia Haynes; brother, Theodore Wittek; sister-in-law, Jean Wittek; and brother-in-law, Harold Haynes. A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Final resting place is Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
