Alice Elizabeth Ruesch (nee Ames), 93, of Zion, died on Monday, March 10, 2008, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Alice was born October 6, 1914, in Wadsworth, IL, and was a graduate of Warren Township High School. She married Carl Ruesch on September 14, 1935, and along with her husband was a founding member of Lakeview Church in Zion. Alice was employed as an assistant chef at Glen Flora Country Club in Waukegan during World War I and World War II. She later became a housewife and was very active in Lakeview Church.
Survivors include children; Kathleen (Howard) Goodwin of Beach Park, IL, David (Monica) Ruesch of Kenosha, WI, Don (Mari) Ruesch and Julie (Richard) Gates, both of Beach Park, IL; grandchildren, Amy (Tom) Barber, Howard Goodwin, and Heather (Robert) Kukla, James Ruesch, Richard (Terri) Ruesch, Annie (Jeff) Hines, Christopher Ruesch, Patrick(Diane) Ruesch, Scott (Mary) Ruesch, Aaron Ruesch, Rachael Ruesch, Andrew Ruesch, and Sarah Gates; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Pedersen, Emily and Alex Barber, Joshua and Morgan Kukla, Amy Schemenour, Brittany, Daniel, Katlynn, Madison, and Matthew Ruesch, Jeffrey and Brandon Hines, Cory, Megan, Jacob, Katie, Brianna, Baylee, and Matthew Ruesch; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ruesch; granddaughter, Reyna Ruesch; grandson, Timothy Goodwin ; brother, George Pulver; sister, Grace Theiss; brother, Alvin Ames; sister, Madess Gust; brother, Fremont Ames; sister, Marceline Herman; brother, Mortimer Ames; sister; Margaret Ames; and father and mother, Edgar and Emma Ames.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at
10:30 a.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Pastor Les Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2008, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Lakeview Church.
