Amador Julio Guerra Jr. 83, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family in his home Weds February 2, 2022. Amador courageously fought metastatic lung cancer & COPD over the past few years and is now at peace.
Amador was preceded in death by his parents Amador Julio Guerra Sr. & Yolanda Rodriguez Guerra Tampa Florida, Maternal Grandparents Julio & Maria Rodriquez, Paternal Grandparents Vincent & Maria Guerra Tampa Florida.
Amador is survived by his Wife Virginia Lloyd Guerra of 56 years Zion, IL, Brother Vincent Guerra Tampa, FL Children; Daughter Donna Guerra Alvarez (Julio) Tampa, FL, Step-Son Jeffery Gyger (Anna) Goodyear, AZ, Son Richard Guerra (Judy) Tampa FL, Daughter Michelle Lynn Guerra McKerlie Hainesville, IL, Son Michael Julio Guerra Zion, IL Grandchildren; Dennis Santino, David Santino, Jeffery Gyger, Ryan Gyger, Andrew Gyger, Kenneth Gyger, Gran Michael McKerlie Esq., Megan Guerra DDS, Great Grand Children; Dayton Santino, Ariana Santino, Tiara Santino, Giavanna Santino, Great-Great Grandson; Antonio Santino and beloved family dog, Daisy Mae.
Thomas Jefferson High School Tampa, FL 1954; College of Lake County Engineering Certification 1973 Specialization in Heavy Equipment Inspection & Quality Control. He was a Cabinet Maker in Tampa Florida from 1958-1964, Engineering Technician for International Harvester Komatsu Dresser Libertyville, IL and Retired in 1992. Amador was also a Engineering Technician for TVH Grayslake, IL and Retired 2020.
Amador enjoyed many hobbies over the years; bowling, woodworking, playing sports, cards & dominos. His favorite things were spending time with his wife & family, sitting on his swing in the back yard listening to baseball, watching the Bears, White Sox, Bulls & Blackhawks with his youngest grandson Gran McKerlie for which he mentored in baseball and football throughout the years.
At Amador’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he has requested the family plan a celebration of life party to honor him. The family will notify loved ones in the future when the celebration is scheduled.
