Andrew G. "Bud" Campbell Sr., 85, of Waukegan, Illinois, died on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion.
Andrew was born July 31, 1924 in Waukegan and has lived in Waukegan all of his life. He was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 731 of Waukegan, and he retired from Civil Service, Great Lakes, after 42 years. Andrew was a veteran of World War II having served with the Army 106th Infantry Division.
Survivors include his children, Andrew G. (Darlene) Campbell Jr. Of Waukegan, Illinois, Greg A. (Diane) Campbell of Zion, Illinois, John M. (Susan) Campbell of Vernon Hills, Illinois, Joseph Campbell of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Dave A. (Kathy) Campbell of Waukegan, Illinois, and Cecilia M. Campbell of Las Vegas, Nevada; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, James R. "Ray" (Joan) Campbell of Wildomar, California; and one sister-in-law, Lu Campbell of Waukegan, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; and two brothers, Paul "Jack" (and the late Eileen) Campbell and William "Cody" Campbell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 624 Douglas Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 4:00until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois. Memorial donations to Alzheimer Association have been suggested.
