Anita M. Peacy, 91, of Zion, IL, formerly of Waukegan, IL, died on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Terrace Nursing Home, Waukegan, IL.
Anita was born May 10, 1923, in Crivitz, WI. She married her late husband, Harvey Peacy on September 8, 1947, at the First Presbyterian Church of Waukegan where she was a long time member. Anita was a life time member of the Moose where she earned her "Green Cap"and "Red Stole" with over 70 years of service. She was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader, Past President of the Foresters, Branch Lago, Chaplain of the American Legion Post 281 Women's Auxiliary and she worked as a librarian in all of the Zion Elementary Schools. Anita was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent baker and she enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her children, Duane (Judy) Peacy of Zion, IL, Raymond (Linda) Peacy of Wasola, MO, Anna-Mae Busch of Zion, IL, Merlin Peacy of Walker, MI, and Linda (Nello) Emerson of Zion, IL; grandchildren, Keith (Deanna) Peacy, Jennifer (Clemente) Rios, Christine Peacy, Michael (Angela) Peacy, Steven (Tammy) Peacy, Sean Busch, Andrew Busch, Cole (Merrill) Busch, Brandon (Carla) Busch, Becki (David) Matteson, Tom (Angela) Emerson, Katie Emerson; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; parents, Hans and Anna Pedersen; granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Peacy; and a brother Viggo Pedersen.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL, with Rev. David Eikenberry of the First Presbyterian Church of Waukegan, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of Waukegan, 122 N.
