Anita Rowan, 61, of Zion, died on Monday, September 18, 2006, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, after a long illness. Anita was born September 17, 1945, in Jamaica Plains, Mass., and graduated from the College of Lake County with a degree in nursing in 1982. She worked as a registered nurse for more than 20 years, having worked for St. Therese Hospital im Waukegan, the former American International Hospital in Zion, and Condell Hospital in Libertyville. Anita also was a volunteer for the Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Anita was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Zion. Survivors include her husband, Keith Rowan ; daughter, Amy (Matthew) Riutta of Kenosha, WI; grandson, Jack Riutta; father, Edmundo Vidal of David, Panama; sister, Dottie Vidal of San Diego, CA; two half -brothers and a half-sister, all of Panama. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ana Gott. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 21, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Rev. Cheryl Esbrook, officiating. Interment is private for the family. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 2015, Chicago, IL 60602 are suggested.
