Ann Marie Gunter (nee Jurich), 79, Zion, IL, born February 8, 1929, in the Bridgeport area of Chicago, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008, at home in Zion, IL, surrounded by her loving children. She married Raymond C. Gunter, the love of her life, on August 30, 1952, at St. Anthony de Padua Church in Chicago. She was a charter member of the Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, IL, and a member of the Women's Club. Ann was a member of the Zion Women of the Moose, the Zion Senior Citizens Group, a former den mother of Cub Scout Pack #60 of Zion, and a commitee member of Boy Scout Troop #62, also of Zion. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ann had an extreme fondness of travel and she loved animals, especially her cat of 18 years, K.D. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her children, Patricia (John) Degner of Zion, Steven (Marianne) Gunter of Antioch, IL, Mark Gunter of Chicago, IL, and Judith (Jack) Houtz of Lindenhurst, IL; loving grandmother of Paul (Lynne) Degner of Cornville, AZ; proud great-grandmother of Time Degner; fond grandmother of Jennifer, Jordan, and Jillian Houtz of Lindenhurst, IL; dear sister of Helen Ostapowi of Chicago, IL; fond sister-in-law of Kenneth Young of West Plains, MO; dear sister-in-law of Marge Jurich of Chicago, IL; special long-time friend, Lillian Leporis of Chicago; and dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond; father and mother, Peter and Emma Jurich; dear sister and brother, Mildred Young and George Jurich; and dear brother-in-law, Louis Ostapowi. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 2008, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL.
