Ann Maria Stemplinger, 82, of Beach Park, IL, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2008, at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion after a brief illness.
Ann was born August 20, 1925, in Moosburg, Germany to Sebastian and Anna Ganslmeier and moved to the United States in 1950. Ann's family meant everything to her and she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put everyone's needs ahead of her own. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, eating out, and was an excellent cook. Ann had a heart of gold, a quick wit and was a joy to be around. A perfect day for Ann was just being able to spend time with family and friends, who will miss her greatly. She was also a two time cancer survivor.
Ann is survived by daughters, Veronica Stemplinger and Lillian Langford, both of Beach Park; and her only grandchild Samuel Langford. Ann felt extremely blessed to become a grandmother in 1989 when Samuel was born and Ann and Samuel always had a special bond.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a
brother, Sebastian, who passed away at an early age.
Per Ann's wishes, arrangements will be private. In memory of Ann, friends of the family are asked to do something kind for someone else, which is the philosophy that Ann lived by.
