Antonio Donile

Antonio "Tony" Donile Jr. of Zion, Illinois passed away December 29, 2009. Tony was born October 25, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, one of four children to the late Antonio and Gaetana Donile (nee Ribando). He married Patricia Donile (nee Feltner) on February 16, 1991. Upon graduation from high school, Tony was drafted into the Army. He served from June 1957 until 1959 spending a year in Germany. Tony worked at Liftex in Mundelein, Illinois for 35 years. After leaving Liftex, he worked at Jewel in Zion, Illinois for seven years. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Tina (Vincent) Wright of Port Charlotte, Florida; two step-children of a previous marriage including Donette (Dan) Lalond of Florida; five step-children from his most recent marriage, Bobby (Tina) Jones of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Shelly (Robert) Oleson of Zion, Illinois, Kathy (Dave) Kemppi of Fox Lake, Illinois, Chrystal (Ionut) Gogea of Zion, Illinois and Tara (Aaron) Lauseng of Zion, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marie (Gene) Foltrauer of Cary, Illinois. Preceding him in death were his two brothers, Dominick and Barton Donile. Tony had a variety of interests. Frank Sinatra, old movies, and sports. He was especially fond of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Blackhawks. Death is the final chapter of life. Tony died peacefully at home in the arms of his wife, surrounded by his family after a seven year battle with cancer. Tony will be remembered for his soft-spoken demeanor and his kind heart. Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas Carlson of Grace Missionary Church officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Gateway for Cancer Research, www.gatewayforcancerresearch.org.
