Arleen L. Kough, 92, of Waukegan, IL died January 4, 2015 at home with her family by her side.
She was born October 24, 1922 in Meckling, South Dakota. She was involved at the church she loved so much, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waukegan. At church, she was head of the Sunday School department, taught Sunday School, was the financial secretary, past president of altar guild, and was one of the first women to serve on the church council. She was a member of Waukegan Womens's Club serving in finances and charity for 8 years. She was chairman for Veteran's Affairs and crocheted many lap sashes to bring to the veteran's hospital. Arleen was a volunteer at Victory Hospital for 45 years and was awarded in 2012 as the longest serving volunteer, still working into her 90's. She was a member of Women's League of Greenshire Golf Course and was a seamstress and loved making 3 piece suits and even made her own clothes.
Survivors include her son, Tom; twin grandsons, Kris and TJ (Tricia) Kough; great grand-daughter, Emma and great grand-son Bentley; nephews, Doug Williams, Don and Gary Henek; and closest friends, Sue Schmidt, Pam Adams, and many more.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay; daughter Judi Bobbie; sisters, Merill and Lucille; and parents, Walt and Martha Erickson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
