Arthur Auger Jr., 83, formerly of Zion, IL passed away November 25, 2013 at Hospice of Arizona at Del Webb in Sun City West, Arizona He was born December 20, 1929 in Cudahy, WI. Arthur joined the U.S. Navy in 1947 and had the opportunity to live in several different locations before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1967. Settling in Zion, Arthur worked for Dexter Corp. in Waukegan where he retired after 25 years of service. After Arthur retired he and his wife loved traveling with his sister-in-law Shirley Jacobs and her late husband John and working as hosts at different campgrounds. In his spare time, Arthur liked fishing, gardening and woodworking. Survivors include his children Richard "Rich" (Pam) Auger of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Cheryl (Gary) Ostermiller of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Nancy (Mike) Speek of Fulton MO, and Jeff Auger of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Auger; parents Arthur and Lottie Auger; brother Lawrence Auger; and sister Lorraine Hutchison. Visitation will be held at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., December 4, 2013 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral with military honors will follow at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private for the family. Memorial donations to Wounded Warrior Fund would be greatly appreciated.
