Audrey B. Orawiec (nee Plume), 85, of Winthrop Harbor, passed away March 26, 2015 at her home.
Audrey was born July 18, 1929 in Oxfordshire, England. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Humility Church, and a member of the Zion Women’s Club. She was a passionate and caring mentor while working with youth and young adults as director of Lamb’s Farm restaurant in Libertyville and most recently as a well-known Para-Professional at Zion-Benton Township High School. Audrey was a wonderful mother, grandmother and loving sister to her family outside of Illinois.
She is survived by her children Krystyna (Louis) Tricoli, Michal (Regina) Orawiec, Mary Ann Russell, Barb (Ranji Jacob) Rossmann, and Tony (Tracy) Orawiec; grandchildren Tina (Louis), Lisa (AJ), Stephanie (Jim), Jenny (Salvador); Jennifer (Dan), Kimberly, Jason, Chrissy (Aleks), Jamey, Shanda (Jason), Brandon (Becca), Allyssa, Ashley, and Caitlyn; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great, great-granddaughter; sisters Ann (Maurice) Lee, Jenny (Wayne) Jean, and Yvonne (John) Wilson; three sisters-in-law Mary Kowalik, Michelle Zaha, and Helene Finka; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karol; grandsons Lonnie Russell, and Timmy Rossmann; and two sisters Joyce and Jean;
Audrey held her loved ones hands for a short while, but will hold their hearts forever.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where a prayer service will take place at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will begin again at the Congdon Funeral Home at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, then going to Our Lady of Humility Church 10655 Wadsworth Road, Beach Park for a Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
