Betty R. Drapalik, 75, of Waukegan died on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL.
Betty was born on July 4, 1932 in Cicero, IL and graduated from Morton High School. She married Joseph Drapalik on October 30, 1951 in High Point, North Carolina. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waukegan and also attended Grace Missionary Church in Zion. Betty was an accomplished watercolor artist who preferred landscapes. She was a member of Lake County Art League, Lakes Region Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Association, Kenosha Art Association, and was listed in the Marquis Who's Who of American Water Color Artists. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Betty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph; daughter, B. Jennifer (Keith) Coryell of Yorkville, IL; son, Joseph (Kelly) Drapalik of Royse City, TX; grandchildren, Matthew and Susan Coryell; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Jennie Degen; brothers, George and Bill Degan and Royce Moore; and sister, Eleanor Mittle.
A memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 122 N. Martin Luther King Dr., Waukegan, with Rev. David Eikenberry officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
