Betty Lou Juranko, 87, of Delton, MI, formerly of Waukegan, died on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at Laurels of Sandy Creek Nursing Home, Wayland, Michigan.
Betty Lou was born July 20, 1919, in Marshall, IL, and came to Waukegan in 1949 after having the spent the years during World War II working in Washington D.C. She had been employed at the Sears store in Waukegan and retired from the Waukegan News-Sun after about 15 years of employment. She was a member of York House United Methodist Church in Beach Park. Betty Lou also served as a volunteer at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include two sons, George Michael Millhouse of Waukegan, IL and John (Rosanne) Millhouse of Middleville, MI; four grandchildren, Michael, (Michelle) Millhouse of Brighton, MI, Ryan (Jennifer) Millhouse of Byron Center, MI,, John (Shawn) Millhouse of Kalamazoo, MI and Jennifer Millhouse of Chicago, IL; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Kate (Bill) Meehling of Marshall, IL; nieces, Kathy Hinkle, Beth Scholfield, Karen Scholfield and Mindy Meehling; and nephews, Bill and Tom Meehling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Juranko and brother, Warren Scholfield.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2006, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. An interment service will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Yorkhouse United Methodist Church, 37768 N. Green Bay Rd., Beach Park, IL 60087.
