Billy Joe Brown, 84, of Beach Park, IL passed away on November 25, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Billy was born September 10, 1937 in Walker County, Alabama to Trenton and Ruby Brown. He graduated from Red Bay High School. He married Patricia Brown in Zion, IL on June 25, 1960. Billy was a member of First Baptist Church in Zion and Meadow Ridge Baptist Church in Zion, and retired from his company, Pride Concrete. Billy was a proud Alabamian and a man of great faith. He was highly respected and very successful in the construction field. He served his church generously and faithfully as a trustee among other areas of service. Billy was a fixer and a builder of just about anything. A lover of the outdoors and classic cars, and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Regina (Brian) Woods, Anita (Percy) McCray, and Trent Brown; grandchildren, Ashley Morris, Kayla Concepcion, Ricky Concepcion, Kaitlyn Burnett, and Blake Woods; many great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Kelly; and cousins, Brenda Inman Tackett, and Glenda Inman Summerford. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Trenton and Ruby Brown; brother, Darwin Brown; and his wife of nearly 60 years, Patricia Brown. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.
