Bobby Box

Bobby L. Box, 71, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and a Lake County, IL resident most of his life, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was born November 22, 1939, in Fulton, MS, to the late Jesse and Ona Box. His work history includes employment at International Harvester, Libertyville, IL, McClure's Garage, Gurnee, IL and eventual retirement from Thelen Sand and Gravel in Antioch, IL. He was a member of Teamsters Local #301. His hobbies included riding motorcycles and racing cars. Bobby was a generous person who mostly just loved people. Survivors include children, Denese Pasko of Kenosha, WI, Lynette (Joseph) Upham of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Michelle (James) Chumbley of Brighton, Wi, Tracy (David) Henken of Hebron, IL, Joe (Renee) Box of Bonaire, GA, Bobbie (John Basile) Box of Oak Park, IL, Bonnie (Michael) Bardonner of Kenosha, WI, Kim (John) Forker, and Corey (Kathy) Johnson of Antioch, IL; grandchildren, Selina, Britni, Maxx, Nikki, Nate, Justin, Amanda, Michael, Tyler, Cody, Courtney, Peyton, Zoe, Joey, Haylee, Belle, Brandon, Morgan and Tyler; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby (Darwin) Hoover of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 1st wife of 20 plus years; Donna Box of Waukegan, IL, and many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Box, his parents; and brothers, Billy and Clyde Box. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
