Carl Walker Holland, 60, of Beach Park, Illinois, died on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at home.
Carl was born February 20, 1950 in Red Bay, Alabama and was a lifelong resident of Zion. He graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School and later from Lake Forest Business School. Carl retired in 2001 from Virtual Color in Elk Grove Village and prior to that had worked for Process Color Plate in Chicago and Munder Color in Zion. Carl, a musician, was a published song writer in Nashville.
Survivors include his wife, Felicia; children, Clayton (Rene) Holland of Winthrop Harbor and Sean Rausch of Beach Park; three grandchildren, Courtney Rausch and Seth Walker Holland and Sophia Holland; one brother, Harvey Holland of Beach Park; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Cynthia Holland; one brother, Olyon Holland; three infant brothers, Omar Dean, Clayton Gene, and Ivan Roger; and his parents, Arvin and Rosie Holland.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. in lieu of flowers donations may be made in the name of Carl W.
