Carol Joy Capp, 82, of Zion, IL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 at the Jonesboro Rehabilitation Center in Jonesboro, GA. Carol was born August 14, 1929 in Zion. She taught music at the Zion Conservatory for over 60 years and was an active member of Christ Community Church of Zion where she provided music for worship services over the years and was Past President of Women's Christian Services. For 17 years she played piano at Midwestern Regional Medical Center worship services on Wednesday mornings. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William Capp; children Larry (Barbara) Capp of Miami, FL; Bill (Jill) Capp of Marietta, GA; Randy (Nancy) Capp a missionary serving with The United Bible Societies in Cairo, Egypt; Linda Joy (Pastor Steve) Anderson of Fairbury, IL; Tim (Karen) Capp of Oviedo, FL; and Jac (Holly) Capp of McDonough, GA; fifteen grandchildren Colin, John, Scott, Casey, Christopher(Jo Anna), Stephanie(Chris), Joshua(Bethany), Bekah(Jon), Matthew, Katie, Brian, Justin, Isaiah, Kristen, and Hannah Faith; one great-grandchild, Aaron; and one sister Arlene Shaffer of Zion, IL. She was preceded in death by brother Harold Noteboom(Justine); sister Pearl Morrison(Robert); infant brother and sister, John and Virgie Noteboom who both died in 1924; father Peter Noteboom; mother Verlinda Noteboom; and step-mother Ruth Hagelberger, Noteboom. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, with Pastor Ken Langley officiating. Private interment will be later at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Zion Conservatory of Music grand piano fund has been suggested.
