Carol Faith Innes

Carol Faith Innes, 76, of Zion, Illinois passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025. Carol was born on January 5, 1949 the daughter of Joseph and Charlotte (Blossom) Innes.

Carol grew up with her siblings, Sandra, Sally, John, and Stephen. Upon graduating High School she went to earn her Master's degree in teaching at Northern Illinois University in 1973. She worked as a special ed teacher for several years, before teaching 2nd grade in Beach Park, Illinois until her retirement. Carol was a most beloved School teacher. As one 2nd grader wrote, “Miss Innes, You are the best 2nd grade teacher anyone could have!”

Carol loved Jesus her Lord and Savior. She was a Prayer Warrior. Her journals were full of people she prayed for with specific requests--often she prayed scripture for them. Carol was a member of Zion Faith Homes.

Carol enjoyed a good laugh. She loved her dogs. After she moved to the nursing home, It made her day when her friend Donna brought her dog when visiting Carol. She enjoyed reading and had an extensive library. Driving was one of her favorite things. She often volunteered to take friends to the airport. When she could no longer drive, she delighted in rides along the lake that her friend Sue took her on. In her younger years she enjoyed counseling at Pilgrim Camp on Brant Lake, NY. Also tenting with her friend Mary in Peninsula State Park in Door County. Later, she enjoyed Door County with her chosen family.

She will be missed by her close friends and chosen family. As a chosen family member, she was God Mother, daughter, sister and aunt.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and several siblings.

Carol will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, Illinois.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Zion Faith Home, 2820 Eshcol Ave, Zion, IL 60099.
