Carol Juanita Krapf (nee Hosken), 90, of Beach Park, IL died on Saturday, March 23, 2013 while visiting her daughter in Colorado Springs, CO. Carol was born August 31, 1922 in Zion, IL. She worked as a young woman in the Lake County Courthouse and as a school secretary in Zion many years. She and her husband Vernon were members of Christian Catholic Church of Zion. Carol did volunteer work for the Literacy Program, and for Victory Memorial Hospital, and was involved with the Alzheimer's Research Program. Survivors include her husband Vernon Krapf; children Pamela Congdon of Colorado Springs, CO, and Susan (Donald) Jensen of Beach Park, IL; son-in-law Will Young of Beach Park, IL; grandchildren Stephen (Brenda) Haskell, Nicole (Tim) Davis, Melanie (Rudy) Imbrogno, Ardsley (J'Lynn) Congdon Jr., Anjanette (Steve Cox) Taylor, Erin Jensen, Brent Jensen, and Dane Jensen; seven great-grandchildren; her sister Peg Kraft of Boulder, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold Edwards; daughter Lana Young; son-in-law Ardsley Congdon; grandson Michael Vernon Young; brother and sister Eddie Hosken and Doris Wright; parents Clara and Frederick Hosken; great nephew Mark Mullen; and numerous friends including her best friend for over 70 years Gloria Plummer. Services will be private for the family. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
